Feeling a bit like Noel Gallagher...

Where did the last six months go? Where is the new album I talked about in June 2017?
It’s surprising how ‘stuff’ just gets in the way sometimes. I’ve been continuing to write for another band – and another project has appeared on the horizon too. There’s no doubt that working on the other projects has influenced my thoughts on how ‘Collins Avenue’ will turn out – and work has commenced on a cover of a Beatles song that encapsulates this.
So why does that make me feel like Noel Gallagher? After the release of ‘Chasing Yesterday’ in March 2015, there was talk of another album being released in 2016 – but it never materialised. After a period of radio silence; line-up changes; rumours; gossip etc. it would appear that new influences were introduced to the project and it took on a new life. ‘Who built the moon’ finally got released last November of last year and is a departure from the guitar based sound we are all familiar with – and has extensive use of loops. Personally, I think it is an awesome album that is a logical progression from the first two albums and indicative of Noel continuing to grow into the space of being ‘Noel Gallagher’ and not the bloke who was in Oasis (like he ever needed to).
2018 brings new challenges (cue: cliché). ‘Collins Avenue’ will be completed – and the work will continue on the other projects too.
Meanwhile, there is a new release. A subtle re-working of a song that appeared on the original ‘Catherine Street’ album of 2014. A cover version of an old Curtiss Muldoon classic, ‘Ray of Light’. Oh… and of course, Madonna did a version a few years ago too. Hope you like it (free to download).
Finally – happy new year… And a big thanks to 365 Radio Network for the airtime they continue to give All Kinds of Perfect. It was cool to hear ‘Play the music’ on air on Christmas Day!
